Abstract
 GeoInsurance: Integrating Addressing, Geocoding, Perils and Accumulation Solutions Track: Business GIS Author(s): Rob Osment, David Howell Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA), one of the largest United Kingdom commercial lines insurers is undertaking one of the biggest change programs in the United Kingdom insurance market. A fundamental part of this change program is R&SA's commitment to the use of spatial information at point of underwriting. R&SA is using Esri technology to assist in the selection, pricing, and peril assessment (e.g., flood and subsidence) and in monitoring risk accumulation. With more than 3.5 million locations insured in United Kingdom, the address matching, geocoding and spatial assessment of risk is an enormous task. R&SA is taking a significant step forward in technology by designing a bespoke addressing solution and integrating ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE with core mainframe systems to enable spatial queries to run in the background without the use of maps or mapping interfaces. It is a truly integrated spatial insurance solution.
