Abstract
GIS Infrastructure of JellaNamdo Built with Satellite Imagery Track: Remote Sensing Imagery Author(s): Na Do-pal JeollaNamdo is a local government of South Korea that governs 22 counties. Most counties of JellaNamdo have not been able to build a GIS due to high cost of the database. So, JellaNamdo has built a GIS with satellite imagery to provide each county with database and Web-based services. An integrated database based on 1 m resolution imagery of IKONOS was made using ArcSDE. The database has been transferring its data to each county on the Web. A variety of thematic maps was provided. As a result, the GIS has not only contributed to deliver the powerful ability of GIS to each county but also improved the quality of administration and civil services.
