Data Management System for Digital Geographic Information Track: Defense and Intelligence Author(s): Oyvind Bergene The Use Of New Technology To Meet The Challenges Within Geospatial Support. The Norwegian Military Geographic Service (FMGT) has faced an heavily increased workload as the Norwegian Armed Forces Area of Responsibility (AOR) over the years steadily have increased, from anti-invasion, through protection of Norway's economic interest, to the global war against terrorism. In order to meet this increased challenge and customers requirements, and in the same time being unable to increase the manpower, FMGT had to look into smarter and more efficient way to do business. In other words FMGT had to use technology to ease the burden on manpower.
