Abstract
E-Assistance Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Paul Welch, Timo Luostarinen The City of Encinitas, CA, had the need to implement a Web-based system for citizens that would handle information requests and requests for maintenance related to city-maintained field assets. The asset reporting system has been designed as a GIS-centric Web application using ArcIMS and ArcSDE, and is integrated with the information request system. Citizens can report on broken or damaged infrastructure, and can track their request and its progressing resolution through the E-Assistance Web application. The application also includes report status, routing, and tracking functionality.
