Electrified Track: Electric and Gas Author(s): Patricia Moehring Experience this electrifying tale of one cities' journey to contain the power within! Through preparatory education, collaboration, and attitude the City of Lebanon managed to design an Electric data model, develop a geodatabase, implement field collection using survey grade GPS equipment, test data design with collection and query capabilities, then redesign, redevelop, retest, until the Electric Department had a geodatabase that enabled them to incorporate GIS in the development, design, collection, updating, and analyses of their Electric network. Planning is the prelude to any journey, especially the GIS journey! No matter how well you plan, like the boy scouts motto, BE PREPARED for the unexpected because the unexpected is right around the corner waiting to zap you!
