Abstract
City of Denver Addressing: Enterprise Integration Using Web Services Track: New Technology and System Integration Author(s): Allan Glen The City and County of Denver's many agencies and departments require accurate addressing to support daily business operations. A centralized addressing system has been developed to support increasing demands for address-related services. Multiple address databases have been centralized into an enterprise geodatabase. Web services have been developed to provide real-time integration with enterprise applications including customer relationship management (CRM) and permitting. Service-oriented architecture (SOA) enables cross-platform, standards-based integration and supports the consistent address validation, formatting, and identification across enterprise systems. In addition, the address service integrates information from other sources including street intersections and postal addresses from the United States Postal Service (USPS). The benefits of extending GIS services to the enterprise, challenges encountered, and lessons learned will be discussed.
