Abstract
GIS-Based Landslide Hazard Analysis Gurpinar Area in Istanbul Track: Mining and Geosciences Author(s): Unal Yildirim, Fatih D�ker G�rpinar is located at the western margin of Istanbul. Landslides in this area have caused millions of dollars in property damages during last decades. The aim of study is evaluate landslide risk based on GIS techniques. The data are used on the study area; slope, aspect, land use and land cover, precipitation, past landslides, geology, discontinuity, hydrology, and road. Data are complied, entered, queried, analyzed, and presented by ArcGIS 9.1 environment. Results indicated that slope and geology are most important variables for estimating landslide hazard.
