Abstract
 GIS at Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Shil Niyogi, Howard Hurwitz The NBCUA maintains a system of gravity and force mains to transmit raw sewage collected in local sewer systems to a regional sewer plant for treatment. This collection system utilizes 33 miles of sewer interceptor mains that serve 10 municipalities in Bergen County. The NBCUA wanted to improve the management of its infrastructure through the development of a GIS database of sewer facilities. NBCUA contracted with Nobel Systems to perform GIS conversion of the Authority's Infrastructure. Nobel helped NBCUA plan the Data Model and then performed the GIS implementation. Nobel is currently hosting NBCUA's GIS on GeoViewer Online, a 24/7 Web-based access to NBCUA's assets. Nobel Systems has connected all drawings and documents/files, including videos/photographs, with the assets, so that NBCUA could have instant access to information from anywhere and at anytime through the Internet.
