Spatial Correlation Trends in Armed Civil Conflict Violence in Colombia

This paper and presentation will seek to summarize and illustrate the geospatial correlative patterns and trends stemming from the long running armed civil conflict in country of Colombia in South America. This aforementioned geospatial research results from a large geographically referenced database with more than 22,000 events related to the armed civil conflict in Colombia from 1974 through 2006 and the readers and audience will come to a better understanding of insightful trends from spatial correlation analysis based upon the U.S. Army's Foreign Military Studies Office (FMSO) research on Colombia and the surrounding region using GIS.
