Abstract
Modeling Transit Accessibility Gaps for the Mobility Impaired Track: Transportation Author(s): Kerry Brooks, Michael Wilhelm This project is part of the Spokane (WA) JARC (Job Access and Reverse Commute) program implemented by a local consortium led by Spokane Transit Authority. The ultimate goal of the project is to identify accessibility improvements to the transit system. We have developed a fine-scale network model to represent the accessibility of pedestrian destinations from transit stops by people with mobility impairments. This presentation describes accessibility modeling on this network using Network Analyst as well as metrics and indices that facilitate comparison of results between service areas. In addition we describe results from the application of the Agent Analyst to this problem and compare them to the Network Analyst results.
