Development of the Control System Dataware of Flood Situation Evolution

In this presentation the development of the control system dataware of flood situation evolution on Bashkortostan Republic which is a part of Bashkortostan Republic (Russia) Ministry of Natural Resources GIS urgency is well founded. The subsystem purposes include operational presentation to MNR managers of total and reliable spatial information needing for decision support while antiflood activities holding on BR territory.

Three classes of tasks concerning flood evolution were divided from analysis of flood long-term observations on BR territory:

  • Preliminary forecasting of hydrological conditions during the flood interval.
  • Short-term operative forecasting of a high water.
  • The analysis of flood situation passing for current year.
As a result of preceding tasks solving the natural resources and ecological situation on BR territory control system will be created stage by stage. Implemented system will contain analysis, modeling and forecasting tools, main natural factors and man-caused processes taken place on Republic territory.
