Abstract
Mapping Contamination and Land Use Restrictions Track: Environmental Management Author(s): Michael Bellot, Larry Zaragoza Environmental cleanups frequently take many years to complete and often result in some level of contamination being managed on site. There is a critical need to let excavators, lenders, developers, land use planners, and a number of other stakeholders know the location of this residual contamination and land use restrictions to protect human health and the environment. The purpose of this panel will be to show the progress EPA, State and private parties are making to develop proceedures for gathering information, developing detailed GIS maps and providing that information to stakeholders. Panelists from EPA, state agencies, and private companies will illustrate how this critical information can be best communicated in a map and truely provide the right information, to the right person at the right time.
