Certification Survivor: Getting on the GISCI and ASPRS Islands Track: Education Author(s): David DiBiase Everyone knows that 'those who can't do, teach.' Does it follow that those who teach GIS shouldn't be certified as GIS professionals? In early 2007, this university lecturer will apply for certification as a Geographic Information System Professional (GISCI) and a Certified Mapping Scientist - GIS/LIS (ASPRS). This presentation will compare the GISCI and ASPRS professional certification processes, and will reveal the outcome of the author's applications.
