Abstract
Developing a Lacunarity Analysis Extension for ArcGIS Track: Modeling Author(s): Pinliang Dong Lacunarity is a scale dependent measure for both fractals and non-fractals. A lacunarity analysis extension for ArcGIS was developed using Visual Basic and ArcObjects to support spatial heterogeneity analysis for binary and gray-scale raster data. With a flexible graphical user interface, the extension supports two major categories of lacunarity analysis: global and local. Both global and local lacunarity analysis can use the whole raster or user specified areas of interest (rectangles or irregular polygons) as input. Global lacunarity analysis produces a text file which can be used to create graphics of lacunarity curves, whereas local lacunarity analysis generates a new raster showing lacunarity values. Installation program and help document are available for interested users. Pinliang Dong University of North Texas Geography P.O.
