Abstract
Customizing ArcPad for Electric Field Inventory at Imperial Irrigation District Track: Electric and Gas Author(s): Jesus Nieblas, Alan Girten Imperial Irrigation District has populated their electric GIS from the field collection of as-built facilities combined with pole inventory and inspection, customer geo-location and transformer ties, and synchronization of asset data to SAP and CCS. The key to this effort was a mobile field collection tool built on ArcPad technology. This provides an easy to use interface implementing all of the requirements necessary for building a valid electric geometric network from the substation source to the customer's meter. The collected data includes unit asset data related to each electric feature needed to verify and maintain records in existing asset management systems. To simplify the movement of data in and out of the GIS SDE database to ArcPad, an enhanced version of check-in and check-out was created. This includes detailed reports of all features handled, detection of corrupted records, manipulation of related records and the ability to repeat data check-ins.
