Abstract
 GIS Benefits for the City of Boynton Beach Track: Benefit of GIS Author(s): Carlos Aiken, David Holdstock, Glendon Morgan The City of Boynton Beach developed a mission and strategic vision for GIS in the year 2000. This has allowed the city to deploy an enterprise-wide GIS system within our infrastructure. Integrating a mature and comprehensive ITS-GIS Department as one unit, has allowed multiple internal departments to take advantage and utilize GIS technologies for their business solutions. With the use of Esri technology and dedicated consultants has been the key to a successful implementation for the City of Boynton Beach. The Return on Investment (ROI) has optimized the City's organization performance displaying significant results. Some of the results are improved efficiency and productivity, improved information processing, and saving time and money on projects. Enterprise-wide GIS offers efficiency and competency in GIS decision making processes. The benefits of GIS have helped the City of Boynton Beach to become more efficient and productive for both internal and external customers.
