Abstract
An Enterprise GIS Application for Mapping Production Management Support Track: GIS Organization, Management, and Implementation Author(s): Kevin Zhang Using ArcGIS technologies (ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS desktop, and the geodatabase), EarthData is deploying a company-wide enterprise GIS system for mapping production and management that includes initial customer inquiry tracking, project design, flight/mission planning, instantaneous remote sensing data receiving and processing for emergency response, estimating, production processes, GeoSAR production support, production workflow management, production information archives, product library, and project reporting and tracking. The enterprise approach will provide a framework for EarthData to manage its entire production workflow across multiple EarthData production units as well as a way for staff to collaborate, share information, and analyze metrics across units. The application also will improve interaction with clients by enabling them to monitor production progress and review deliverables online.
