Geo-enabling DoD Business Transformation: Defense Installation Spatial Data Infrastructure
Track: Defense and Intelligence
Author(s): David LaBranche

As the geospatial proponent for the Department of Defense (DoD) Business Mission Area, the Defense Installation Spatial Data Infrastructure (DISDI) has matured significantly over the past year. This presentation will outline its current strategic goals as well as provide the status of key initiatives underway like the DISDI Portal, Real Property Inventory mapping, and Environmental Liabilities mapping efforts. DISDI is engaged in teaming efforts between the warfighting, intelligence, and business sectors of the DoD to develop integrated spatial data models and information architecture enhancements that will satisfy strategic defense mission requirements. In addition, DISDI will highlight how the DoD business mission area is implementing geospatial information policy and governance processes to effectively implement geospatial capabilities across the enterprise.
