BTRA-BC Engine Migration to CJMTK
Track: Defense and Intelligence
Author(s): Shane McIntyre, Daniel Visone

The mission of Battlespace Terrain Reasoning and Awareness—Battle Command (BTRA-BC) is to increase the effectiveness and agility of Battle Command (BC) and the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) through the application of geo-environmental data, information and knowledge across the force.

Military transformation is highly dependent on a common, shared understanding predicated upon both existing, shared battlefield information and predictive estimates to achieve C4ISR agility. Extension of this doctrinal tenet to geospatial information, argues that terrain and weather information should be founded in common analytics, employ common representation and employ common predictive tools. For these reasons, BTRA-BC technology has sought the widest possible transition base to C4ISR systems through National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's Commercial Joint Mapping ToolKit (CJMTK).

This paper will discuss the functionality of these applications as well as the effort required to incorporate the applications into CJMTK to include: documentation, testing, and any CJMTK-specific software changes.
