Abstract
Strengthening Tribal Sovereignty through Geospatial Science and Education Track: Ecology and Conservation Author(s): James Rattling Leaf Sinte Gleska University and its strategic partners combine as a leadership force in the Earth Sciences for indigenous peoples by providing a collaborative scientific excellence and responsiveness to the specialized needs of American Indians. The proposed project assists in the design, development and delivery of advanced learning environments and significant community support systems for American Indian peoples. It focuses on scientific knowledge and understanding of the Earth, advancing human exploration, use and development of geo-spatial data sets - as connected to the Earth from an American Indian perspective. The project's outreach component seeks to apply geo-spatial information to everyday challenges facing American Indians.
