Abstract
GIS Support Programs at the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska Track: Ecology and Conservation Author(s): Randy Henry The Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (CCTHTIA) are developing a GIS program using the software made available by Esri and the BIA / GDSC for natural resource management and Native Allotment mapping. GIS software has been around for awhile but had gone unused to a great extent due to lack of training. As a Natural Resouce Specialist and one of my main functions is to provide GIS training and assistance to the individual tribes under our jurisdiction here at the CCTHITA. The CCTHTIA extends from Yakutat, AK in the north to Ketchikan, AK in the south, from Sitka in the west to Juneau in the east and many towns in between.
