Coeur d'Alene Tribe Geographic Information System
Track: Ecology and Conservation
Author(s): Frank Roberts

The Coeur d'Alene Tribe has had an active Geographic Information System (GIS) program since 1992. The Tribe uses GIS technology to collect, store, and analyze information about the lands it has traditionally used. Information is collected for environmental, social, and cultural geographic features.

We are currently working on a number of interesting projects. The most tribally valuable is our addition of Native Names to the National map. In addition we have a number of LiDAR projects occurring at this time. As well as the typical GIS projects such as parcel creation, general base map creation, and other standard GIS analysis.
