Abstract
Using ArcGIS Server to Implement Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Applications Track: Electric and Gas Author(s): Mike Casella PSE&G, New Jersey's largest Electric and Gas Utility serving 1.6 million Gas and 2.1 million Electric Customers, recently upgraded their SAP Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) System. As part of that upgrade it was necessary to replace an existing GIS interface to validate work order addresses. This replacement was taken as an opportunity to replace a dedicated interface with a more generalized Address Validation Web Service that could be leveraged to service requests from many other business processes and systems for which validated and consistent address are essential. The Web Service has been designed using a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and components to support vendor independent interoperability. This presentation will cover the GIS architecture to support this and future SOA based applications. Interoperability with SAP, Microsoft and Oracle SOA architectures will also be covered.
