Migrating from Manual Map Production to Digital Map Production

Clackamas County, Oregon, is in the process of completing the process of migrating the maintenance of the Assessor's Maps from the current mylar to a GIS produced maps while maintaining state cartographic standards. The challenges involved in the final process of completing the migration include training Cartographers how to use ArcMap, changing data models, and lack of resources. In order to meet the challenges involved creating strong working relationships with internal agencies, other county governments, develop of document procedures, and creative problem solving.
