Track: Agriculture
Author(s): Michael Douglas

Farm Credit Services of America provides financial solutions for farmers and ranchers in NE, IA, SD, and WY. The appraisal team's vision of Automated Valuation Modeling (AVM) capabilities have been realized with the integration of GIS technology into their leading edge in-house real estate appraisal system. ArcEngine is seamlessly integrated to provide users aerial imagery, CLU, and soil data. GIS data becomes an input to the AVM. An appraiser has the ability to download packages of several counties to the local machine in order to use ArcEngine in a disconnected state for appraisals. If the user is online, they have the ability to utilize any county's data via Image Server and GIS Server/SDE. This new appraisal system enables property valuations to be done much more efficiently and seamlessly. Beyond the appraisal system, the GIS data has been made available for other internal business lines to utilize.
