Providence Water Supply Board is in the process of implementing a new enterprise GIS to support operations and maintenance of the organizations water infrastructure. New technology and business processes are being introduced which will enhance access to and management of the infrastructure and customer records. An enterprise Web viewer based on ArcGIS Server with integration to Hansen WMS is being deployed which provides the spatial component or location of PWSB's water infrastructure assets and the work to be performed against those assets. By integrating ArcGIS with Hansen, users can see where assets and work orders are located on a service area map. In addition this system links to common and related information maintained in PWSB's Customer Information System. The integration of GIS, WMS, and CIS provides a single common asset and customer information registry. This presentation explores the technical architecture and business benefits of an integrated ArcGIS Server solution.
