Building and implementing an Enterprise Technology Vision is much more than purchasing hardware and software. The development of your Vision includes the consideration of several crucial elements including governance, procurement, business partner relationships, and project management. In addition, communicating the vision where others in the organization come to understand and accept the Enterprise Technology Vision is needed.

Implementing an Enterprise approach to technology can be full of procedural, technical, and political pitfalls. Those organizations who have implemented a Geographic Information System, with its inherent collaborative business approach, may already have in place a model for their Enterprise Technology Vision.

Cobb County will share its challenges and successes in its march toward an Enterprise Technology Vision, and explain how GIS played an integral part in proving an enterprise approach to technology is a smart one.
