CSX Real Property, Inc.'s GIS team manages the Enterprise GIS serving it's users with updated basemap, property ownership, and rail network data. Powered by Esri's ArcGIS Server, the GIS team has been successful with not only data maintenance, but also disseminating the information to their users via the Internet.

The next big hurdle was to become an integral piece in the change management business process. Maintenance, construction, and inspections are all change management processes at CSX that were primarily paper driven. The paper trail could take months to make its way to Real Property's information system. Enter Esri's ArcMobile technology. Leveraging ArcMobile, the GIS team has bridged the gap in many key change management workflows and has developed a solid framework enabling them to extend Mobile GIS capabilities across other business lines.
