GIS System and Integration Design: The Human Variable

Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility has undertaken a project to evaluate its asset systems data design in order to streamline workflows, reduce double entry, and improve integration between GIS, financial, customer service, and work management systems. The technical portions of this process had to be successfully partnered with coordination and feedback from employees in several key divisions such as Treatment, Engineering, Customer Service, Operations & Maintenance, Finance, and Information Technology. This workshop will focus on the process of ensuring collaboration and coordination for system design changes on a utility wide scale, including feedback and education.
