Abstract Triaging Healthcare Facilities for Emergency Operations Track: Health and Human Services Author(s): Michael O'Neill, Scott Christman, Michael Byrne The Facilities Development Division (FDD) of the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) manages building construction permitting for all hospitals & skilled nursing facilities in CA. Under emergency situations, specifically earthquakes, OSHPD is mandated to inspect hospitals & skilled nursing facilities for damage. An emergency operations center gets stood up with each event. We have extended our publicly available web application, called Healthcare Atlas, to include additional intranet-only functionality to assist FDD when triaging facilities after an earthquake. From the application, responders and engineers are able to see event and facility information to aid them when executing OSHPD's business processes during the emergency. A key component of the system is the automated consumption of USGS earthquake data. The architecture includes ArcIMS, ArcSDE, USGS ShakeMap RSS feed, VB.NET, Python, and web services.
