Abstract State of Utah's Implementation of Image Server Track: System Implementation for GIS Author(s): Zach Beck In the fall of 2006 the Automated Geographic Reference Center (AGRC) began acquiring additional imagery and elevation data. An important role of the AGRC is maintaining and providing access to geospatial data to users across the state of Utah. This new data pushed the AGRC to look for an alternative solution for serving out imagery that would be both fast and cost effective. With the release of 9.2, the AGRC moved from accessing raster data through SDE to Image Server. This presentation is intended to give an overview of the AGRC's experience with Image Server. Topics to be discussed include: What the needs were in the past, how they have changed, and how they are being met. The current server environment - how the imagery and services are stored, created and accessed. Finally, what issues have arisen, and workarounds that have been used to solve various problems.
