Abstract ArcIMS Applications for Military Stationing Planning Track: Defense and Intelligence Author(s): Greg Coniglio, Russell Barfield Fort Hood (Texas), one of America's largest army installations, uses an ArcSDE / ArcIMS solution, named "CAMPS" to maintain master planning and troop stationing requirements and information. The highly customized ArcIMS site reads from an ArcSDE Enterprise Geodatabase, allowing the Master Planning Staff to track the always-changing facility assignments. As units return to the post from overseas, the staff can use internal web applications to search for available space for specific building requirements, and time frames. These results are mapped for the staff on a custom ArcIMS site. The site insures 'unit integrity' - that returning assignments will be placed near existing stationed units on post. This paper will discuss the technical issues related to importing these databases into SQL Server and ArcSDE, and development of customized ArcIMS applications for ease of use, and developing custom tools for tracking and locating spaces.
