Implementation of a Mobile Enterprise Solution at the Bayerische Staatsforsten

Bayerische Staatsforsten is one of the largest forest enterprises in Europe. The company is responsible for the Bavarian State Forest and it is the largest wood provider in German-speaking countries.

The Mobile Enterprise Solution is based on the mobile ADF and gives the field staff easy to use GIS functionalities to collect and visualize forestry information. In addition the users have access to the data of the internal ERP-System based on SAP. The main application in the first stage is the management of the timberstacks to support the logistic processes and the management of forest stands affected by the bark beetle. In the first stage around 500 users work with the mobile solution - in the next stages hundred of users should follow with the mission to manage most of their forestry planning with the use of the mobile ADF client as the primary tool in the field.
