Mobile Mapping Application Using ArcGIS Server

The Regional Transportation District manages all public transportation for the Denver Metro area. Over the course of the past decade RTD has developed Geographic Information System capabilities in order to provide a service to citizens and create new functionality and services for its internal client base. This has evolved the need for an Esri ArcGIS Server Mobile based infrastructure mapping system which RTD has coined MobileMap. MobileMap offers the means to map, track, display, query, and update RTD information while in the field. The MobileMap system will allow an RTD employee to update field inventory for RTD owned infrastructure through an easy to use mobile map-based interface. The data will be stored in Esri ArcSDE and be immediately accessible via Esri ArcGIS Server technology to other users both in the field and via existing internal web applications. This system deployed at RTD and will foster future real time mobile solutions.
