This presentation covers the steps to upgrade an ArcIMS HTML Viewer website to ArcIMS .NET ADF. It includes a discussion of the planning activities of the project and the different scenarios analyzed to support the decision to change to a different development platform. It also covers the software development methodology adopted to perform the transition as well as an analysis of the different phases of a life cycle model built to define the activities to complete according to the functionalities to implement. It is mentioned how this life cycle view of this upgrade was utilized to define the different activities of a formal project and there is a brief discussion of technical details like code comparison of both solutions, advantages of the new approach, and a demo of both solutions.
