Abstract A Long-Term Seamless Daily Precipitation-Temperature Geodatabase for the Continental US (CONUS) Track: Climate, Weather, and Atmosphere Author(s): Mauro Di Luzio, Jeff Arnold, Jan Curtis, Chris Daly, Greg Johnson, Phil Pasteris The availability of long-range and wide-area temporal spatial climate data sets increases the potential for deriving the required input for natural resource modeling and ultimately appropriate management decisions. A methodology was implemented to combine an enhanced compilation of daily observations (precipitation and maximum-minimum temperature) derived from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) digital archives; and the respective PRISM (Parameter-elevation Regressions on Independent Slopes Model) monthly maps. A geodatabase has been designed to host the results of the implementation, which contains 15,341 grids for each meteorological field, at the 2.5 min (around 4 km) resolution, for the years 1960-2001. This paper will review the results of the implementation and steps taken in designing and developing the geodatabase using ArcGIS 9.2 and the associated raster format options.
