Web Application to Disseminate Fire Incident Information Using ArcGIS Server
Track: EMS/Fire
Author(s): Aziza Parveen, Dave Donley

Current and accurate information is crucial for fire management. Riverside County Fire Department initiated a project to develop a web based application that affords the Department the ability to discern if they are providing adequate services and meeting the time frames for response to emergency incidents. Using this application, anyone within the Department can query individual Fire Incidents based on date, month and year with the option for searching additional categories such as: responsible Battalion, responding Fire Station, Jurisdictional agency and Supervisorial district. They may also view the selected records on a map display. In this initial phase of the project, we have used ArcGIS Server 9.2, Visual Studio 2005, Crystal Reports XI and VB.Net framework. During the next phase of the project the program will be become dynamic, so that incident data may be added upon occurrence and made available to the users for immediate query and analysis.
