Track: Cadastral and Land Records
Author(s): John Liddle

This presentation will discuss how BLM and USFS have integrated ArcGIS 9.2 technology into the National Integrated Land System (NILS) GeoCommunicator and implemented a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for making a rich set of data webservices available to the public. This presentation will demonstrate new Web Services such as 'Find Land Description', 'Derive Land Description', GeoCoder, and other webservices utilizing SOAP WebServices. Additionally, we will demonstrate the use of ArcGIS Server 9.2 technology for faster and richer content map viewers, demonstrating some AJAX callback techniques, map caches, and other 9.2 features. The discussion will present an itemization of SOA services available from NILS GeoCommunicator and LR2000 with details for programmers and GIS professionals, how to access those services and incorporate those services and BLM data into your own projects, websites and GIS.
