Empowering Decisions to Enrich Land Transport for the Community

In realizing the vision of a world class land transport system, Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore adopts GIS technology across its business units to facilitate timely and informed decision making. The nerve centre of LTA's GIS infrastructure is Road Data Hub (RDH), where more than 60 layers of road and rapid transit system features are managed. Leveraging on RDH and integrating LTA's enterprise workflow and document management infrastructure, LTA's GIS solutions enable knowledge sharing across business units and equip LTA to plan, collaborate and manage its roads, traffic, regulatory function and civil works more efficiently and effectively.

As a result of the business enablement through GIS, road networks are optimized and public enjoys a smoother traveling experience. Public infrastructure and safety are also safeguarded. For instance, traffic accident analysis has improved trouble-spots to reduce accidents on expressways by 90% and traffic junctions by 66%.
