International Underwater Explorations (IUE) focuses on web services for Ocean and Marine applications integrated with Google Earth and ArcGIS Explorer. Our current flagship project 'Ocean Globe' enables access to web based data transfer and visualization of bathymetric, hydrologic, oceanographic, and weather layers using ArcGIS Server and WMS and KML web services. The bathymetry of the Globe is compiled in an environment where underwater fly-through visualization is made possible on the internet, and rapid data transfer is made easy to provide fast decision support. The Ocean Globe Server hosts Geoprocessing tools that automate the process of creation of shaded relief layers, contourlines, and bathymetry to make it possible for people to 'push their data to the globe'. This method can be applied to NGA's DNC data in a secure environment, or it can be applied to collaborative data collections by the Marine and Ocean community on the internet. This presentation will highlight the use of the ArcGIS Server framework for transitioning from data, to information, to decision support.
