SPatial Information Knowledge System (SPINKS) is a solution to support decision making with spatial analysis at Korea Land Corporation (KLC), whose business domain is as follows: housing welfare, industrial support, and land management. Based on spatial data and its attributes containing terrain, cadastral, and environment information which KLC has built up for a long time, SPINKS has been mainly used for sustainable development and balanced land management. SPINKS enables users to edit and search spatial data on the web, leveraging ArcGIS geoprocessing tools powered by ArcGIS Server. Here are the 4 key roles of SPINKS. 1. Developing land management, 2. Support for compensating developed land, 3. Reserved land management, 4. Analysis of planned areas, 5. Policies making support. With SPINKS, KLS not only takes a lot of geographic advantage, but also makes better decisions with greater efficiency. Even more effective communication became available for their workflow.
