NGA's Commercial Program Overview
Track: Defense and Intelligence
Author(s): Yvette Fey

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is relying increasingly on commercially remote sensed data to fulfill imagery and geospatial intelligence products consistent with presidential policy and guidance. Data provided by U.S commercial satellite vendors is becoming increasingly more accurate and reliable, making it a viable resource for GEOINT (i.e., imagery and mapping products). We are continuing our work to aggressively secure CRS future capabilities (NextView) and improve our systems and architecture in order to accommodate CRS data. Our goal is full integration of CRS data into the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NGS).

This Commercial Remote Sensing presentation provides current commercial remote sensing information to include a Program Overview, Policy, Licensing and U.S. commercial satellite capabilities. This presentation should be attended by US DOD, Federal, State and Local employees with an interest in commercial imagery, but especially Imagery Geospatial, Intelligence, or all source Analysts, as well as collection managers and management personnel.
