Abstract Best Practices for Enterprise ArcGIS Applications using .Net and Java Track: Defense and Intelligence Author(s): Tingxing Huang Java and .NET are two common platforms used for customised development in the ArcGIS framework. In the enterprise environment, there is typically a need to enable development across these two common platforms to support the existing system requirements. It is observed that such a hybrid system, comprising of software components of various platforms, requires special design considerations. This paper takes a closer look at the intricacy of designing across Java and .NET platforms in the ArcGIS framework and describes several approaches to manage concurrency and performance.
