Abstract Centimeter Level Navigation Accuracy Update a Modern Infrastructure Track: Federal Systems Implementation Author(s): James Arnold This paper explores the development of the High Accuracy Nationwide Differential Global Positing System to support centimeter level accuracy for land transportation applications throughout the US and beyond. Several goals were put forth early in the program including minimizing deployment costs and coexisting with existing infrastructure. Test deployments have been implemented in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Kansas for the purpose of testing the overall effectiveness of the system. Data from these sites is provided illustrating both the effectiveness of the communication system and the techniques for using the data they are communicating. Additionally, the use of the GPS reference stations for determining ionospheric and tropospheric delays will be addressed. Techniques to broadcast this data have been developed and are intended for implementation on a test basis shortly. The end product of using all the various technologies and techniques is a robust and useful system that goes beyond supporting highway transportation.
