Management of Pipebridges in a Refinery

Pipebridges play a very important role in the infrastructure of a plant. To ensure the connection between assets in a refinery they carry pipelines, pipes and cables and can easily reach a composed length of more than 10 km. For civil engineer purposes pipe bridges are statically loaded buildings.
However, like all other assets, they have to be maintained and managed. F.e. the maximum load has to be controlled especially while planning new pipelines onto the bridges.
In cooperation with a refinery all necessary data were collected, a data model was created and the connection to other enterprise IT-systems was organized.
Meanwhile this system is a module of a plant information system which runs under ArcGIS server. Database functionality and GIS advantages are combined. Information is available by using a Web-browser, planning, cost calculation and maintenance are more comfortable.
