Honolulu Online System for Emergency Services: Fire Incident Planning/Response
Track: Emergency Medical Services/Fire
Author(s): Gary Lum, Tom Moen, Mary Helen Wood

The Honolulu Online System for Emergency Services (HOSES) is a web-based portal used by Honolulu Fire Department personnel to view different sources and types of information related to emergency incident operations. Different data types are integrated to provide users with a seamless, comprehensive, and real-time information source. Information on the portal that is available to operations personnel includes real-time, out-of-service hydrants and inspection reports, pre-fire plans and drawings, Tier II Hazardous Material facilities with chemical inventories, the water supply distribution network, and locations of recent incidents. Data can be queried and viewed as reports or displayed on maps via the ArcGIS Server-based map component. HOSES provides an effective and efficient means for fire operations personnel to access and utilize GIS-based information to support incident response, planning, and analysis.
