Erlanger, Kentucky Police Department: An average sized agency that had a large obstacle to overcome. 19 agencies sharing data, 7 new partners joining the consortium, minimal data reporting and analysis with paper maps. WebFOCUS, a Business Intelligence (BI) tool, changed the reporting, analysis and mapping landscape. NKAPC the local planning commission helped Information Builders to create a custom solution for the City of Erlanger to solve their BI needs. WebFOCUS connects GIS data at NKAPC to Erlanger crime data 3 miles away. The data displays on a map and it is updated every 30 seconds. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) display data for supervisors to deploy the workforce more efficiently. A Google style interface gives officers the ability to easily look up information in their cruisers and act on that information in real-time. All the reports are customizable with drilldowns to give you the information that you need instantly.
