Multi-agency Data Replication with ArcGIS Server

Williamson County and several Cities are implementing a multi-agency geodatabase that links disparate systems and databases with Esri's geodatabase replication functionality using ArcGIS Server. The goal was to reduce the time, effort, complexity, and errors inherent in the legacy process of emailing flat files and stitching them together to create a county-wide data set. Each agency is in control of their data and can easily and seamlessly share data in near real time without hassle. Security and quality control is built into the scheme. In order to successfully implement data replication among all the agencies, there were several organizational and technical challenges to overcome.
