Using Basics of ArcGIS for Operational Planning
Track: Defense and Intelligence

The everyday analyst gets vast amounts of geospatial data in many different formats. For the APEC Summit held in Peru (November 2008) we were tasked with the creation of a fused GIS product using data gathered from several different sources. GPS points, 360 degree photography, webcams and full motion video are some examples of the non-standeard data used. Using basic ArcGIS processes allowed us to maximize the effectiveness of this data, and present it in a way that the end user (from embassy analysts to the Peruvian government) was able to navigate a fully fused product.
