AbstractMapping Risk: The USACE Dam Break Inundation Mapping Program Track: Cartography and Map Production Author(s): Jeffrey Albee, Barry Moran, Jeff Albee The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Office of Homeland Security (OHS) has tasked the Hydraulics and Hydrology Community of Practice to develop, on an expedited schedule, dam break flood inundation mapping initiatives on approximately seventy USACE dams. This effort will support National critical infrastructure protection responsibilities led by USACE under the USACE Critical Infrastructure Security Program (CISP). A major initiative within this effort involves the development of updated dam break flood inundation mapping and estimating populations at risk and economic impacts. This presentation will detail the progress of the USACE to standardize the inundation map products and data in order to produce a consistent product to be used for emergency planning.
